Statement of Faith

We believe there is one living and true God; perfect in love and righteousness; one in essence, existing eternally in the three persons of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible, consisting of both the Old and New Testaments, to be the infallible and inspired Word of God, our ultimate authority in matters of faith and conduct. The books of the Bible are to be interpreted according to their context and purpose and in reverent obedience to the Lord who speaks through them today.

We believe that God, by His word and for His glory freely created the world out of nothing. God made man and woman in His own image, as the crown of creation, that we might have fellowship with God. Tempted by Satan, humanity rebelled against God by placing faith not in God, but self and thereby seeking personal glory. Being estranged from his Maker, yet responsible to God, humanity became subject to divine wrath, inwardly depraved and apart from grace, incapable of returning to God.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s eternal Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, who is the only Mediator between God and humanity. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in Christ’s substitutionary atoning death in which Jesus died in our place thereby revealing the divine love and at the same time upholding divine justice, removing our guilt and reconciling us to God. We believe this reconciliation is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ our only Lord and Savior. We believe in Christ’s bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, continual intercession for His people, rulership as Lord, and personal visible return
to earth.

We believe in the present and continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer in Christ. The Holy Spirit leads us to place our trust in God, renews our hearts, convicts us of sin, guides, sustains, gifts and empowers believers for a life of holiness and service.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. God has called us together as the Church, whereby we gather for worship, the sacraments, fellowship, encouragement, support, and for making disciples of all nations teaching them to obey everything Christ
has commanded.

We believe that as followers of Jesus Christ we are to live for the glory of God by placing our ultimate hope in God and thereby trusting God daily according to God’s Word. As God has said, “Be holy for I am holy,” we are to live exemplary lives that are consistent with our faith and pleasing
to God.

We believe God’s redemptive purpose will be consummated by the personal and visible return of Christ to earth to raise the dead, to judge all people according to their deeds, and to establish His glorious kingdom. The wicked shall be separated from God’s presence, but the righteous shall live and reign with God forever. Then shall the eager expectation of creation be fulfilled and the whole earth shall proclaim the glory of God who makes all things new.
